Absolutely love this. For me this embodies the power of the web. The simple ability to have a voice, connect with likeminded souls around the world and have a hell of a lot of fun in the process! The video below is YouTubes Rewind masterpiece, a collaboration meets mash-up of the years most culturally profound content. If the film leaves you wanting more, do not worry, there area series of hidden links to additional footage and the original material scattered though out the 4.15s of footage, plus I’ve dropped a ton of link for you below. Enjoy YouTubers!
Axe get creative with YoutTube in the most sexist of ways in this ‘choose you own adventure’ esq campaign. Produced by Ponce Bueunos Aires the content uses something apparently called stereoscopic 3D technology which allows you to select which layer of the film you want to see simply by closing one of your eyes! High tech video solution, low fi consumption mechanic! Check out the video in all its blue and red glory below or click here to watch with built in YouTube glasses.
Introducing the Chuck Board. Part social network, part search engine, part Ouiji Board! Built using a cutting edge touch screen interface thats mystically embedded in the YouTube, the Chuck Board turns your monitor into a window to the occult! Simply placing your finger on the screen, ask a question and let the spirits respond! …or something like that!
Stop skipping those ads. Instead start skipping behaviours. Behaviours that can help make the world a better place. Here’s a neat idea that competes directly with the skip ad button on YouTube to raise awareness of the cause.

Happy Birthday to the mighty YouTube, 7 years old! Pretty amazing really that a platform founded in Chads garage has grown from 8 million views a day in 2005 to over 4 billion views today, and has over 72 hours of content uploaded every minute! Enjoy the video, some cool stats in there that certainly carry the wow factor if you have a little bit of geek in you!
90% of all video content consumed online is cat related! Unbelievable huh?! It should be I just made it up! Regardless cats have certainly benefited (somehow!) from social media and its about time another brand pounced on peoples fascination with those furry felines. Purina Friskies have done just that with the release of their cat playhouse, a wonderland for kittehs and a perfect opportunity to spy on their every move!
Social Networks, micro-blogs, location based services, video, photo and professional, the world of social media keeps growing and keeps putting up astounding numbers. Any brand or marketing manager that’s still sceptical should step outside the world of advertising and look at the cultural, political and behavioural impact the socialisation of the web has had.
Then take a little peak at what that translates into every 60 seconds! And guess what, it’s still just a sign of things to come! Read more…
Axe (or Lynx depending on where you live) will be releasing a first of its kind graphic novel on January 10th entitled ’Axe Anarchy’. You can bet your house on the fact the content will be tantamount to soft core pornography but the more interesting aspect is that you, me and Nigel down the road can literally write the story in real time. Plot suggestions will be pulled from various social platforms with their authors and their ideas written into the comic as it evolves. It seems like an interesting concept and will no doubt stir up an army of pubescent teens into fantasy fueled frenzy!
Here it is, the Google review of 2011 through search. According to peoples tapping fingers 2011 has been a year of adversity, crossroads, revolution, remembrance, possibility and inspiration. Revealed at Zeitgeist 2011 the video goes head to head with Bings Review of 2011 (which doesn’t include December!) and combined sums up the last 12 months beautifully. Enjoy.
