Something light and easy to start off Monday with. Snapdragon, the mobile processor by Qualcomm decided to create a ‘Bug Circus’ with the sole intention of charging the battery on their mobile phone! Seems strange but imagine if all you needed each night to recharge you mobile was a tarantula, scorpion, praying mantis, dung beetle and pair of hissing cockroaches! Who wouldn’t disown their energy provider in favour of insect power? Yup, didn’t think so! Regardless, its still an entertaining piece of content, enjoy!
Small town America meets Japanese auto maker in Mitsubishi’s most recent marketing ploy. To launch their new electric car and position it as the new normal Mitsi have taken over Normal, Illinois! 1000 electric cars, a completed charging infrastructure and this video are just the beginnings of the campaign. As the video says, if you drop 1000 cars in LA no one will notice, but do the same in Normal and no one can avoid it!
A week I had predicted to be slow in terms on innovation and fresh marketing ideas actually turned out to be a bot of a humdinger! A particular favourite of mine being the BT Towers transformation into a lightsaber! Very cool! One quick reminder, as I do each week. The ADZAG Facebook page need friends so please like away here! Right, here’s our round-up of the best of the week incase you missed anything;
I love it when brands make people feel awkward! The video footage just feels a little more raw than a scripted TV show. Enter Carlsberg, who recently filled a cinema showing Planet of the Apes with hundreds of stereotypical bikers. Big, tattooed and carrying aggressive facial expressions! Every seat was taken, apart from 2 in the middle. You can kinda guess the rest, unsuspecting couples were ushered into the cinema and their reactions filmed for our enjoyment!
A big week in the world of social media with Google+ moving to Beta and the Facebook F8 Developer conference announcing a raft of platform updates, but that hasn’t stopped the communication industry delivering a few advertising gems. Also the ADZAG Facebook page is slowly growing, please like us here if you haven’t already! Right, here’s our round-up of the best of the week incase you missed anything;
Pepsi of course! Pepsi has a long standing relationship with music and to remind people of that very fact they’ve released this inspiring piece of content featuring Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Mariah Carey and the legend Ray Charles. The content seems to allude to a big announcement or in my mind a great opportunity to crowd source the next face of cola (That’s my IP now Pepsi!) but beyond that the film really only reminded me that Michael Jackson was awesome, Britney was once hot, Mariah Carey is still wacky and that I just don’t like Kanye West!
Clearly hotels.com are super pleased with their mobile app, so pleased in fact that they decided to through a guy out of a plane at 15,000 feet and make him book a room at the hotel he was about to parachute into! To be honest, if I were free falling at terminal velocity I’d be more concerned about surviving than choosing the thread count of my bed sheets, but that probably won’t make a very good video! So did he succeed? Watch below.
A week not dominated by communication but by technology. The Apple rumour mill has been in overdrive with leaked images and speculation around the forthcoming iPhone 5 and Google finally launched its Flights product over a year after it acquired ITA Software. The ADZAG Facebook page is inches away from its 100th fan, please like us here if you haven’t already! Right, here’s our round-up of the best of the week incase you missed anything;
Remember the ‘Rear view girls’? The kiwi ladies that put cameras in their jeans and busted all the men that checked them out? Well now Cosmo for Guys, a recently launched magazine title has had some fun reversing things. Pinhole cameras were placed all over one guys body before he was sent to the streets to chat to unsuspecting women who’s momentary gazes were captured in this video!
Who doesn’t love ASOS? In my office not a day goes buy without one of our lovely ladies receiving a parcel of new clothes. But ASOS isn’t just about female fashion, and to promote their new autumn/winter range for guys they have created this amazing piece of content. The film aims to showcase the latest trends in culture, music, art and fashion and features raw talent from London, Paris and Tokyo. Enjoy!
