This ones wacky, StinkDigital have hacked the recently released Nike FuelBand and tethered it to their twitter account! The motion based mechanics remain with the FuelBand attached to a motor that spins each time the account receives a follower, is mentioned or is retweeted. All this activity is totted up using Nike Fuel and your twitter account has its ‘health’ gauged! …yup, I told you it was wacky!
To help launch FIFA ’12 the team at EA Sports have come up with a novel way to reward fans for tweeting about the game…a giant scarf…no sorry, a world record giant scarf! Simply send in a message of support for your club including the hashtag #fifa12scarf, a hashtag for your team #charltonathletic, and finally a hastag of the colour you want your section to be knitted in, #red, and your tweet could become immortalised on the wollen masterpiece! A simple mechanic offering a physical reward for a digital contribution.
Mobile again featured heavily this week, does that make this the year of mobile? Personally I hope that ship has long sailed but when the media news rooms are a little light on genuine stories the mobile debate is always worth dusting off!
