All around the world innocent people are being persecuted, accused of crimes they didn’t commit or facing punishment without cause. An innovative social experiment in Germany looked to raise awareness of this human rights violation through none other then pirate radio! Frequency hacking technology was installed in a regular looking van and driven around Hamburg targeting specific cars listening to popular radio stations. Then what seemed like a normal news bulletin was broadcast to the unlucky individuals(s) accusing them of a crime they didn’t commit! The result, some very freaked out people and a many suspicious looks!
JWT New York has created a powerful campaign designed to raise awareness of human rights issues in Burma. The instillation depicts a series of prisons with pens for bars. Passers-by remove the pens to sign an adjacent petition releasing the prisoners as support grows. An incredibly idea that beautifully ties together an individuals action and the power of the crowd.
