Well, cheapest taxi rank but you hopefully get the idea. To promote the tiny cost of running a Nissan Leaf the Nissan GB team decided to run a little twitter based taxi promotion. Simply tweet where you want to go with the hashtag #6xCHEAPER and one of Nissans awesome electrics Leafs will come and collect you. And when I mean cheap, I mean pennies cheap!
Nice idea built around visual aggregation using hashtags on Instagram. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and and in advertising it needs to be and much much more. So Tribal DDB Israel built an Instagram presence tied together via hashtags and leveraging the convergence of social, mobile and visual content (their words). That’s all I’ve got today guys. Sorry!
It looks like the South African advertising industry is enjoying playing with twitter hashtags and finding interesting ways to marry a digital action with a real world reward. Following hot on the heals of the BOS Ice Tea, Tweet For A Tea : The Twitter Powered Vending Machine campaign is this idea from Toyota to help launch its new Etios model. Anyone passing by the twitter powered shopfront could send a message to the #etiossmile and suddenly the instillation comes alive with bubbalicious results!
This is another one of those ideas that is so simple yet so brilliant that I felt compelled to scream at my computer and repeatedly squeeze my stress ball! It was not a good start to the day!
Step 1: Choose a #hashtag, in this case #tweeshes.
Step 2: Turn a map of the world into a series of individual locations and corresponding notes.
Step 3: Play a locations note when someone uses the #tweeshes hashtag and has geo-tagged their tweet from said location.
