Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Google+ and Diggs user demographics all in one place. Handy? oh yes. Well designed? Kinda. Definitely worth exploring in a little more depth for comparison purposes.
Microsoft Tries to B*tch Slap Google…Again
I love it when big corporates go to war. In most cases the battles play out in courtrooms, behind closed doors or via well scripted and politically correct press releases. Not in this case! Microsoft have pulled out their claws and are swiping like crazy at Google! Hopefully there will more of the following to come because its mildly amusing!
And this one from last year. [Read more...]
Google Maps Goes Analogue In New Video
To coincide with CES and highlight some of the new features that Google Maps has recently added, Google released this uniquely analogue film from new ad agency Venables Bell & Partners. The spot revolves around a huge wooden gyroscope that follows a blue marble around model streets stopping off at a restaurant and barber shop along the way. Its an interesting concept and one that feels very ‘Google’! If you are interested in finding out more about what Google Maps now has to offer then start here.

Romanian Chocolate Bar Tries To Change Google’s Auto-Complete Search Feature
Pretty much everyone knows of, or has experienced Google’s auto-complete function when searching. Sometimes its helpful and other times it can be quite revealing. For example the top auto-completed search begining with the phrase ‘Why do’ is ‘Why do dogs eat grass’. Weird! Well unfortunately for Romanians the first few auto-completed search terms for ‘Romanians are’ include stupid, ugly and rude. That’s why ROM (a Romanian chocolate bar) has launched a campaign to change peoples perceptions of the country using Google’s auto-complete feature. Between now and December 1st (Romania day) ROM is encouraging anyone and everyone to uses positive phrases such as ‘Romanians are smart’ or ‘Romanians are beautiful’ to change the top auto-completed terms and spread joy and happiness around the world. Slightly strange campaign but great leverage of a well known digital behaviour, check out the website here.
