Pizza delivery on scooters, how rubbish are they? I’d prefer my hot and steamy Dominos to be delivered on space hopper or maybe a hover board. Well it might just be possible as Domino’s have just launched a crowd-sourced quest to build the ultimate delivery vehicle. Head over to Local Motors to have your say and just maybe your next Pepperoni Lovers Pizza will arrive via Bullet Train.
I’ve seen some pretty wacky stuff come out of the Domino’s idea kitchen but this stunt (surely they can’t be serious!) has to take the business. In a bid to make their delivery scooters more noticeable/recognizable in the Dutch bicycle lanes Domino’s decided to replace the usual 2 stroke engine sound with a human rendition…mmmmmmm….mmmmmm…Domino’s! Bonkers!
It must be Monday since the ADZAG Monday Mixtape is up and at ‘em! There are some great stories to share with the Troy Library campaign a stand-out for me over the last few months. Definitely worth 3 minutes of your time.
Domino’s Pizza Australia is creating the world’s first Social Pizza. Over the next 7 days (19 March until the 25 March 2012) the almost 500,000 strong Domino’s Pizza Australia Facebook community will be able to vote for their favourite crust, sauce and toppings. The most popular crowd source ingredients will be added to the pizza each day with the final product actually featuring on the Domino’s menu! Don’t worry if you’re not sure what pizza to look out for, fans will get to name it as well!
Crowd sourcing ideas seems to be coming back into vogue (unless it only went away in my head!) with Domino’s launching there own take on the more established variants from Dell and The Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Think Oven calls on pizza lovers to submit either projects (thoughts on specific subjects such as uniforms) or ideas (completely blue sky thinking). Submissions are then voted on and the authors of the best ideas are reward.
We are doing exactly what the title suggests, serving up the 5 most popular stories as voted for by your visits and views over the last 7 days. There have been some Christmas crackers so make sure you check each of the following out in full;

Maybe one of the last bastions yet to be gamified has fallen…yup, pizza ingredients! To continue its drive toward pure pizza transparency Dominos wanted to show consumers what ingredients they use and where exactly they come from. Throwing away the rule book (labels on packaging!) Crispin Porter + Bogusky created the following interactive experience. The results seem pretty impressive with over 140,000 people participating in just 2 weeks and delivering on average 21 minutes of engagement!
Lots happening this week, some great campaigns, interesting infographics and down right awesome ads. Brands often set big hairy goals but usually in board rooms and as internal marketing objectives. Domino’s Japan on the other hand have gone straight out and told the world it intends to have an operating branch on the moon in the next 30 years! Considering humanity hasn’t set foot on the moon in over 40 years I’d say this is a promise they might have a hard time keeping. To be honest though it doesn’t really matter, in marketing terms, a 30 year window to deliver is unheard of and no competitor can call them out until 2041 by which time pizza might have been banned for health reasons anyway! Bold move Domino’s!
