The buzz around the Cannes Lions always lingers. when you get the worlds best communications brains in one place its inevitable exceptional thinking will result. Following on from Jesse Desjardins 100 Awesome Slides From The Cannes Lions 2012 the presentation maestro has pulled together another great deck aggregating his notes and100 awesome quotes from the best minds at Cannes.
…kinda…To celebrate UNIQLO’s dry mesh project the fashion retailer and their agency, Firstborn NewYork, synchronized a team of people to hijack popular categorized on Pinterest by sequentially posting images that together created an innovative scrolling mosaic. No idea what I’m on about? Just watch below.
Did you attend but were too partied out to pay attention, or were you jealously following the tweets like I was from afar? Either way Jesse Desjardins (as he did last year) has pulled together a great snapshot of not only some of the thinking but also how important the story and creative delivery is. Enjoy.
This is a great little idea from Bradesco Seguro Insurance out of Bazil. Using the standard swipe gesture readers of the iPad auto magazine unwittingly smashed the ads car into the bezel of their tablet! Simple and highly effective, this for me demonstrates the unrealized power of tablet advertising.
If you’re like me and have been hanging out desperately for someone to invent a tweet based cloud generation technology then the wait is over. The Galleria Shopping Mall in Brazil (Yes I was expecting this to come out of Silicon Valley) recently launched a funky project that allowed Facebook users to tweet (they’ve crossed the streams as well!) shapes which were then turned into bubble clouds and released at the mall itself…and if none of that makes sense then just watch the video!
I’m knee deep in recruitment right now so this slick little idea from Jung von Matt resonates on 2 levels. The first being its excellent activation of a super simple insight and existing consumer behavior, and the second being it stands staunchly apposed the the tried, tested and completely boring recruitment process of posting a job on a career site.
Only days after the last Getty Images campaign (which can be found here) another one pops up online, this time from R/GA London. This time however there was a real barrier to overcome, perception of Getty wasn’t all that great. Viewed as an old, traditional and out dated organisation R/GA needed to change sentiment and drive re-appraisal. The solution, take the defensive Getty watermark that adorns every one of their images, and turn it into a more valuable way to share additional information. Take a look, did they achieve their objective?
I stumbled upon this yesterday and had to share due to its shear wackiness. To demonstrate that Camp Juice in Brazil is only made from real fruit juice their agency (AgeIsobar) spent 2 years experimenting with organic fruit modification! I can’t even explain what happens next, just watch the video!
This is awesome. Apparently in Russia there is a douche bag problem amongst the country’s drivers. It seems they like to park anywhere and everywhere regardless of the inconvenience they cause other people. Now however the power is back in the peoples hands thanks to this smart little photo app that is synched to geo targeted online display publicly outing the douche of a driver to any any computer in the vicinity!
Queensday, a day of celebration in Holland and if its one thing the Dutch seem to know how to do as well as anyone its party! So much so that on Queensday those beautiful flowing canals in Amsterdam can quickly start flowing with something else…urine! That’s where this crazy game comes in as it aims to help Dutch party goers take aim in a different way!
