To celebrate the holidays, AKQA teamed up with members of the Pacific Chamber Symphony and Music Director Lawrence Kohl to create a synchronized ‘Mobile Orchestra‘. Carol Of The Bells ties devices together through individual, synchronised content streams to create a much bigger, immersive musical experience than possible on a single device. A bit like Deeplocals ‘Deck the Screens‘ from 2011.
To bring a little Christmas cheer to the victims of Hurricane Sandy agency 360i has decided to turn one of its meeting rooms into a life size, twitter powered, snow globe! Simply tweet you message using the hashtag #twinterwonderland and not only will the snow machine spurt out an extra helping of white powder (no not the usual agency fodder!) but 360i will also donate $5 to the Sandy fund. Great job guys…let it snow, let it snow, let it snoooow!
If only this was true. It’s a fantastic idea out of the Miami Ad School courtesy of Philip Hovensjö, Max Pilwat, Andy Schwitter (Art Directors), Westley Taylor (Copywriter) and Shane Stever (Voice Over). The idea is simple. Any iPhone user has a tone of apps, I believe the average is around 30, of which only 10 are used on a regular basis. So why not donate some of those long forgotten apps, or at least their value, to charity this Xmas. Simply drag the unwanted app into the donation box and the money is donated!
I know, I know, advent calenders are meant to stop on Christmas Eve, but I couldn’t sign off with Camouflage Cat in a Christmas Hat so instead here is an exceptionally special treat to say thank you for stopping by and spending your precious time on ADZAG. There’s always one person that doesn’t want to play nicely, share their toys or play pictionary at Christmas. In this case its our kitteh of the day. He clearly doesn’t want to be wearing his Christmas Hat, and as a result feature in the worlds greatest advent calender. Well tough luck cat, we snapped you in your Christmas Hat and now you’re on the interwebs looking daft! We win!
Have you ever been invited to a posh Christmas party? Well I haven’t. I bet they’re full of well to do socialites wearing designer bad jumpers and exceptionally well fitted Santa gear like today’s cat. Hmmphh.
The festive season can get a bit much for even the most seasoned Christmas pro. If you feel like that’s happening to you, follow these simple steps, 1) Find a Christmas Hat, 2) Put in on, 3) Stop being such a whinging #$@& and enjoy yourself, its Christmas after all!
Another festive campaign out of Canada (those guys are mad for it!), this time from Canadian Tire. The premise here is a Christmas tree covered in 3000 lights thats are powered, illuminated and directed by Christmas conversations online. Using real time social monitoring the technology behind the Xmas tree picks up on messages that embue the holiday spirit and transform those festive worlds into ‘power’ for the trees decorations! For a little extra surprise and delight certain key word activated easter eggs set off hidden light shows!
