Sweet little animation from Mike Ko I stumbled upon on Adverblog which shows an animated 3D experience popping out of an iPhone. Who knows with a company like Apple, this could end up being a reality sooner than we think!
WOW! iPad 3 Concept Video
The iPad 3 will be announced on March 7th and as expected the rumour mill is in overdrive right now. One of the cooler examples of speculation I have seen recently is the following concept video featuring an edgeless screen and holographic projections. To sum up how I feel in one word – WANT!
Never Have Trouble Waking Up Again
Perfect for Monday morning! Party a little too hard at the weekend? Stay up late watching re-runs of Friends or Sex In The City? Or just hate getting out of bed? Whatever your reasons this little app, ironically titled Mission Alarm will make sure you get up without fail! Tried it today. It works :-(
The New VW Beetle Jumps Off A Billboard In This Cool Augmented Reality Campaign
The launch of the all new Volkswagen Beetle needed to be as fun as the car itself. With all new aggressive styling, a massively upgraded interior and that same cheeky personality the advertising needed to literally jump off the page. Funnily enough that’s exactly what the auto maker and Red Urban have done. Using a custom augmented reality iOS app every billboard/poster is packed full of hidden interactive goodness. Simply hold up the phones viewfinder (while running the app) over the VW Beetle panel and BOOM! Its certainly an innovative take on the traditional outdoor format and brings the Beetle to life in exactly the right way but I do have concerns over the number of people willing to take the time or make the effort to fully experience the campaign.
The Beck’s Sobriety Test Mobile App
This isn’t the first and I’m sure it won’t the last alcohol brand to attempt to create a sobriety test. The latest variant from Becks combines their famous keyed logo with the idea of struggling to get your car key in the ignition when your drunk (do cars still come with actual keys or is it all proximity based sensors now?!). One nice touch is the location based taxi database which can be set up in advance so that if you play the game and fail the app auto dials that cab company for you. That aside I do have concerns about insinuating that if you can complete some simple game then you are safe to drive. The idea completely disregards the units of alcohol consumed or when. For example I could down a bottle of Vodka, play the game immediately, pass the test, jump in my car and head to the closest motorway. I think we all know how that would end. A far better example of addressing drink driving is the ‘Drunk Valet‘ social experiment out of Brazil.
Apple’s next product innovation revealed (exclusive)
Well, not really, I just couldn’t help having a little fun given the ridiculous amount of buzz surrounding the iPhone event today. To keep all the Apple Fanboys and girls energised I present the iWood, an iMac inspired chalk board no Apple Fanbaby should be seen without! Produced by Rasselfisch the iWood has everything you would expect from an Apple product. Cutting edge design, sleek and slim looks, beautiful screen, in-fact the only thing letting it down is the screens refresh rate! Please share with any Apple Fans that may be experiencing a sense of humour failure today!
Are you are an Apple Fanboy or Fangirl?
As October 4th sneaks up on us and the buzz around the Apple announcement happening at its Cupertino, California campus reaches a crescendo, Paid Viewpoint release the follow up, or part 2 of their 3 part series on the iPhone 5. (Read part one here).
1000 iPhone users were surveyed and some of the findings include;
- 51% of current iPhone owners consider themselves a Fanboy or Fangirl
- 75% of iPhone owners believe its hip or cool to own an iPhone (WTF!)
- Those that class themselves as a Fanboy/Fangirl are 76% more likely to upgrade to an iPhone 5
I assuming part 3 will be released after the imminent unveiling, it will be interesting to see [Read more...]
Scandinavian Airlines poke fun at their competitors
SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) have created a neat little mobile application designed to poke fun at their tardy competitors. For the last 2 years Scandinavian Airlines have been named the most punctual airline in Europe and as a result have released a time killer mobile application incorporating 4 time wasting games. The app is designed to be used by passengers flying on competitive airlines who might be experiencing a delay! Definitely a nice twist on the way brands have traditionally used mobile apps.
