I’m pretty sure the next 4 weeks will be dominated by Christmas campaigns and 2011 review videos like this one from Bing. Curiously they released this in November insinuating that Bing or Microsoft as a whole don’t recognise the month of December! The video covers the most searched terms that have shaped the last year from the devastating Tsunami that shook Japan to the sad passing of Steve Jobs. It’s both a reminder of the breakthrough and heartbreaks that we have all experience in 2011 and a springboard to a fresh start in 2012.
I work at an agency, many of the people that read my blog ramblings work at agencies, and that’s why if they are anything like me they will find themselves nodding, smiling and mentally agreeing with much of the following info-graphic, The Anatomy Of An Agency!

I’m a little worried about finance carrying side arms though!

Halloween, your every day average Zombies favourite time of the year is just around the corner and to celebrate Axe (or Lynx) has released this cool video that clearly demonstrates that even the living dead can get hot girls with the right anti-perspirant! Just a little fun that made me smile. Enjoy.
Do you have your finger on the pulse? Are you on the bleeding edge of the cutting edge? If you can’t categorically say yes to both uestions then you need to read ADZAGs most read stories of the last 7 days!
I love Nike. I don’t love running. If Nike can motivate me to run (and enjoy it!) I’ll probably love them more! Ellie Goulding has teamed up with Nike to produce a great film around her love for running. The background music (which sounds awesome) is a song called ‘Under The Sheets’ and definitely embodies the energy that a great running sound track can offer. In fact Ellie is producing a custom 30 minute track called ‘Runnin Into The Light’ which is mixed to be the perfect score for runners to jog to. Combine that with the superb Nike+ and suddenly the Nike running strategy takes real shape – Utility, Footwear, Clothing and a healthy does of motivation. Jog on people!
Something light and easy to start off Monday with. Snapdragon, the mobile processor by Qualcomm decided to create a ‘Bug Circus’ with the sole intention of charging the battery on their mobile phone! Seems strange but imagine if all you needed each night to recharge you mobile was a tarantula, scorpion, praying mantis, dung beetle and pair of hissing cockroaches! Who wouldn’t disown their energy provider in favour of insect power? Yup, didn’t think so! Regardless, its still an entertaining piece of content, enjoy!
As voted for by your eyeballs, interest and general consumption, ADZAG will now be presenting the most viewed advertising stories of the week beginning right now for week commencing October 9th! BOOM!
Space seems to be in vogue right now. First Domino’s announced their moon branch, then Samsung sent messages of support to a mobile attached to a weather ballon and now Google have teamed up with Lenovo and NASA to offer students the chance to have their experiment conducted in space and streamed live back to earth.
We’re asking you to come up with a science experiment for space and upload a video explaining it to YouTube. If your idea wins, it will be performed on the International Space Station and live streamed on YouTube to the world. And we’ll throw in some out-of-this-world prizes, too.
It’s certainly a bold idea, but if it gets the next generation of kids excited about space then I’m all for it. If you are interested in finding out more then definitely check out the YouTube/Lenovo brand channel and watch the explanation of the competition below.
There is also a cool promotion video with some cool anti gravity effects below! Read more…
Having run out of ideas to name their most recent creation, Lithuanian brewery Utenos instead turned to consumer and asked them for suggestions! Anyone could submit a name and the community at large voted on their favourite, including a bunch of internet trolls who managed to influence the outcome! Once the dust settled there was one clear winner in the naming stakes ‘Friday’, named after the irritating Rebecca Black song! Luckily for Utenos Friday and beer go together like ducks and water and the nameless beer was nameless no more!
A week I had predicted to be slow in terms on innovation and fresh marketing ideas actually turned out to be a bot of a humdinger! A particular favourite of mine being the BT Towers transformation into a lightsaber! Very cool! One quick reminder, as I do each week. The ADZAG Facebook page need friends so please like away here! Right, here’s our round-up of the best of the week incase you missed anything;
