I really hope that beaming 140 characters of earth finest (!) into space doesn’t end up with an alien invasion similar to that terrible Rhianna movie, Battleship!  Clearly undeterred or unaware Scott Kildall and Nathaniel Stern will spend 30 minutes capturing every tweet with the hashtag #tweetsinspace on September 21st before later transmitting each message to a far larger twitterverse.  Exoplanet GJ667Cc, 22 light years away!
