CommBank Launches Innovative Payment Platform Called Albert

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has just launched a tablet based payment solution for it’s business customers.  It’s called Albert and Albert likes Pi!  It looks like a nifty little solution that sits squarely against Square’s ‘Square Register’ (That’s a lot of squares!)and Paypals merchant solution.  With the key difference really being CBA’s existing business base.  As a bank they already have millions of businesses using their POS terminals and processing transactions through their financial exchange, so offering an innovative tech solution to their existing customers is of real value and a blow to emerging players looking to gain a foothold in the market.
