Can Pepsi Refresh the Ocean?

The Pepsi Refresh Project has the audacious goal to ‘refresh everything’.  Not fazed by the scale of the task, two students, Sean Tiraratanakul and Manasvi Abrol, from the Miami Ad School came up with this innovative idea to refresh 70% of the worlds surface, or the oceans!  2.5 million plastic bottles are discarded every hour in the USA, with many ending up in landfill or at the bottom of the ocean.  Interestingly though each bottle has a 5 cent refund value that is rarely collected.  Imagine what could be done if those 60 million discarded bottles per annum where used to build a Refresh the Ocean fund!  That’s up to $3 million a day or over a $1 billion a year!  More than enough to make a real difference to our planet.
