Facebook sends real flowers to people on their birthday

What if a digital happy birthday was also a real world happy birthday!  1-800-Flowers have an interesting idea which looks to tie together Facebook wall posts with its real world same day delivery service.  Through a Facebook application birthday wishers can gift a single virtual flower to the birthday boy or girl.  Over the course of the day those virtual flowers are put together in a single bouquet which is then delivered to the lucky individual before the sun sets.  Nice!

Hey Angel, the idea was actually a concept put forward for the Future Lion category at the 2011 Cannes Lions and isn’t available. Hopefully 1-800-flowers see the potential and bring it to market.

      Thanks for commenting
