How Social Media Can Get You Fired

Social media, the voice of the people!  But what about when your voice drops you in the sh*t!  We’ve all heard the stories, disgruntled or drunken employee rants on Facebook only to remember later that they are friends with their boss!  The rest is history along with their job!

Catvertising 2.0 By Friskies Plus

It’s not often you see a LinkedIn brand activation, which is why I wanted to share this campaign by Fujitsu called Profile Pitch.  Anyone with a profile can plug it into the (not so) nifty micro-site and have it analysed and scored.  You can also team up with you colleagues and go head to head with your competition, business vs business!

Give it a go and let me know your score. [Read more...]

Instagram + Ford Fiesta = #Fiestagram

3 Facebook Users Die Every Minute

I’ve touched on this topic a few times in the last couple of months, here, here and here, and now Australian site Life Insurance Finder has released the below video with some interesting, if a little fantastical thoughts about our digital selves post death. Generationally this idea of a digital death is yet to be fully understood.  Facebook, Twitter, YouTube et al are all under a decade old and statistically their sweet spot is Gen Y onwards.  Since their core audience is under 40 there hasn’t been a wave of commentary or debate on who owns an individuals data when they die or sensible protocol on how to remove/archive a persons digital imprint.  But its coming…it has to.
